According to the Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region (VOR), there are 14 battery electric buses in Vienna operated by operator Wiener Linien, (municipal operator of the City of Vienna) and 20 CNG buses in Wiener Neustadt, operated by operator WNSKS (municipal operator of the City of Wiener Neustadt).

The first clean bus services under our concession start operation with a bundle of two regional bus lines in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria  (1,3 mln km/a, 11 buses) and an urban bus network of three lines in the City of Baden. Both will employ battery electric buses. These two concessions are currently in different stages of the tender process and start operation in summer 2022 and summer 2023 respectively.

An important driver - and determinant for the scale and character - of  clean bus development in our region- is the Clean Vehicle Directive and the targets as well as exceptions set out by this European regulation and it's transposition into Austrian Law (Straßenfahrzeug-Beschaffungsgesetz).
