CBEP supports member Nexus with roll-out of nine new electric buses in Tyne & Wear
UK-based public transport authority and CBEP member Nexus, together with operator Go-Ahead, has added nine new electric buses to expand its fully electric bus fleet in the North East region. The new roll-out was supported by the Clean Bus Europe Platform, which provided expertise and experiences that allowed Nexus to provide technical support for a successful funding bid.
“The exchange of knowledge and expertise gathered through the EU funded Clean Bus Platform allowed Nexus to provide technical support for a successful funding bid. This helped to facilitate the introduction of 18 new zero emission battery electric buses on the streets of Tyne & Wear. These buses are helping to reduce emissions and improve air quality and have so far proved extremely popular with customers, the bus drivers and other stakeholders too. We are extremely grateful for the knowledge acquired through the Platform which helped us to deliver these new clean buses.”
